1. Information we collect
- Creator inquiries. Your name, email address, and Instagram handle when you check eligibility or request to join Vela.
- Brand inquiries and bookings. Your name, work email, company name, and acknowledgment of the campaign budget. When you continue to our scheduling provider, it also collects the appointment details and any additional information you provide there.
- Communications. Information you include when you email us or discuss an inquiry with us.
- Technical information. Our hosting and delivery providers may process IP addresses, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, and error or security logs to deliver and protect the website.
- Analytics. As analytics features are introduced, we may collect website interactions, referral sources, device or cookie identifiers, and marketplace campaign performance information, such as content engagement and view counts. The information available depends on the features you use and the permissions you provide.
Please do not include passwords, financial account details, or sensitive personal information in an inquiry.
2. How we use information
We use inquiry information to respond to you, assess creator eligibility, discuss campaign opportunities, schedule calls, and follow up on your request. We use technical information to operate the website, troubleshoot problems, prevent spam and misuse, and maintain security. We may also process information to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We use analytics to understand website and marketplace activity, measure campaign performance, improve Vela, and prepare anonymized reporting for advertisers and Vela promotional materials.
If data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on taking steps at your request before entering a contract, our legitimate interests in managing inquiries and operating a secure business, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
3. How information is shared
Creator inquiries are delivered to Vela by our email delivery provider, Resend. Brand booking details are passed to Cal.com to prefill your scheduling page. This includes your name, email, company, and budget acknowledgment in the booking link; that link may also appear in your browser history, so avoid sharing it.
Information is processed by providers supporting website hosting, email delivery, communications, and scheduling, as needed for those functions. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the business, subject to applicable protections.
Submitting an inquiry does not make your contact information public on this website.
Advertiser reporting and Vela promotion. We share anonymized or aggregated analytics with advertisers using the marketplace and may include those statistics in Vela promotional materials. These reports are prepared so they do not reasonably identify an individual; removing a name alone is not sufficient. This does not extend to publishing your name, email, Instagram handle, identifiable content, or individual-level tracking records in promotional materials. Any identifiable campaign reporting or content use requires the applicable campaign terms or a separate notice and permission where required.
4. Cookies and external services
Hosting and security services may use cookies or similar technologies needed to deliver and protect the site. Images on our public pages load from Unsplash, which receives technical information such as your IP address when your browser requests an image.
Analytics tools may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies to measure visits and interactions. Where consent is legally required, optional tracking will only be enabled after consent, and you will be able to change your choice. We will update this policy or the relevant cookie notice as analytics tools are introduced. Sharing anonymized performance reports with advertisers does not itself authorize tracking for personalized advertising.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some technologies may affect how a service works. Cal.com, Instagram, and other external sites have their own privacy notices and cookie practices. Review their notices when you use those services.
Account features on creator.vela-ads.com and information collected under a separate creator or brand agreement may be covered by additional notices. Those notices supplement this policy and explain any additional collection, platform connections, or identifiable campaign reporting.
5. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to handle your inquiry, maintain a relevant business relationship, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. The appropriate period depends on the nature of the information, why it was collected, and any applicable recordkeeping requirements. You can contact us to request deletion.
No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Please use the contact below if you believe information shared with Vela has been compromised.
6. International processing
Vela and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Those countries may have different data protection laws. Where applicable law requires protections for an international transfer, the transfer must be covered by an appropriate legal mechanism.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; and opt out of certain uses or disclosures. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority or appeal a decision about your request.
To make a request, email henry@vela-ads.com. Tell us which information or interaction your request concerns. We may need to verify your identity or an authorized agent’s authority before responding. Rights may be subject to legal exceptions. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
You can ask us to stop nonessential follow-up emails at any time by replying to an email or contacting us. We may still send communications needed to respond to a request or administer an existing relationship.
8. Children
This website’s inquiry and booking services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 through these forms. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us so we can review and address it.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as our website or practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Where required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
